Menopausal Women Heading Back Into the Workforce
Most of my career I have been at the same job on average five to seven years. I was relatively healthy, attractive and not overweight. I interviewed confident in my skills, experience, looks and personality. If I was not hired it was their loss. Then again, that did not happen often, I usually got the job.
Over my last six year stretch at the same job, I gained weight, turned 55, and started menopause. I remained confident due to my knowledge of my position. My co-workers overlooked the weight gain and the obvious hot flashes with sweat pouring down my face. I felt like a cartoon character with droplets gushing from my head. The occasional irritated response was
